The New Designers Exhibition

Summer is here and so are the Art & Design student degree shows up and down the country, so why not check out what up and coming talent your local University or College has to offer. It is always good as a creative person involved in creative industry to go along to these shows to see what is going on at grass roots level, whether it’s trends, fashions, inspiration or to seek a potential employee, it is always appreciated.

It’s a few years ago now but whilst at Stockport College I exhibited at the 10th New Designers Exhibition in 1996 which is held every year at the Business Design Centre, London. If you hurry you can still catch New Designers 2008 with Part 1: 3-6 July 2008 and Part 2: 10-13 July 2008.

As I mentioned in the previous post Music Video, I attended Stockport College were I studied HND Illustration, a hand full of degree show students were chosen to exhibit at the New Designers 10th in London (Incidently the Stockport Degree Show poster was done by Scott Jones the founder of the superb Juno in Liverpool check out there back catalogue of work!). I exhibited 4 sets of Illustrations with 5 postcard size illustrations in each set, each followed a spectrum of a certain colour group and illustrated 4 different short  pieces of creative writing I had written, these were done using coloured photocopy sheets and collaged together.

I can’t seem to locate the poster from my Liverpool John Moores Degree show, but will post it as soon as I dig it out, until then here is the latest offering from LJMU: Liverpool Graphic Arts Degree Show.
